The race for the Super Bowl has been going on all season. With the start of the 2023 NFL playoffs on the doorstep, plenty of familiar names are back in the mix for a title.

The preseason-favorite Bills are in the playoffs for a fourth consecutive year; they're hoping that this time will mark their first past the AFC title game since 1994. To do that, they'll have to get past the defending AFC champion Bengals and the winner of two of the past three conference titles in the Chiefs. The Chargers and Ravens have also punched tickets to the playoffs.

The NFC is also loaded with familiar faces. The Eagles head the field, with the Cowboys and surprising Giants joining them from the NFC East. The 49ers will have a shot to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since Super Bowl 54, while the Vikings will look to prove many doubters wrong after winning the North for the first time since 2017.

Several teams remain in the fight for the remaining wild-card spots, including Aaron Rodgers' Packers and Bill Belichick's Patriots.

The Sporting News has everything you need to know about the NFL's championship game in 2023, including when and where it will be played.

When is Super Bowl 2023?

  • Date: Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023
  • Kickoff time: 6:30 p.m. ET
  • TV network: Fox
  • Live stream: Fox Sports App | fuboTV | DAZN (in Canada)

The Super Bowl will take place on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023. This is the second year in a row the game will be held on the second Sunday in February, a result of the NFL expanding its playoffs to seven teams in each conference starting in 2021.

Fox will handle the broadcast of Super Bowl 57. In past years, that would mean hearing Joe Buck and Troy Aikman calling the game. With Buck and Aikman moving to ESPN before the 2022 season, Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen will be on the call, with Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi reporting from the sidelines.

Future Super Bowl locations, host sites

The Super Bowl locations are set only for the next three games. Following Super Bowl 57 in Arizona, the NFL's championship will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in 2024 and then back to the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans in 2025.

Allegiant Stadium, which opened in 2020, is the second-most expensive stadium built, with a final cost of $1.9 billion. It trailed only SoFi Stadium, the site of the 2022 Super Bowl. SoFi cost $5.5 billion.

The Caesars Superdome has hosted the most Super Bowls in NFL history, with the big game held under its roof seven times. It most recently was the host for Super Bowls 36 and 47. The Patriots beat the Rams in Super Bowl 36 in 2002, while the Ravens edged the 49ers in Super Bowl 47 in 2013.
