Earl Thomas could be missing in action for at least a week.

The Seahawks safety is unlikely to play Sunday against the Redskins after suffering a hamstring injury in the team's win over the Texans, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

Thomas, who intercepted rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson and ran 78 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with the injury and did not return. Thomas said after the game that he tried to return, but that the coaches “just didn’t let me” go back on the field. He underwent an MRI exam Monday for further evaluation.

“He does have a slight pull,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday on 710 ESPN Seattle. “We’ve got to see what that means. He’s going to deny it’s a problem, just like he did. He wanted to go back in, we had to steal his helmet.”

If Thomas is unavailable, fellow safety Bradley McDougald will fill the void. McDougald was signed by Seattle as a free agent this offseason after starting for the Buccaneers the previous two seasons.

“Bradley will step up if (Thomas) can’t go,” Carroll said. “If that’s the situation you face — oh, your starting safety’s out, and there’s Bradley McDougald back there — you feel pretty good.”

The Seahawks, who've won four straight, will host the Redskins at 4:05 p.m. ET Sunday.
