Sure, Sammy Watkins wants Tyreek Hill to be part of the Chiefs' receiving corps but the six-year veteran believes they can still win without Hill, who is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Watkins performed well Sunday in Kansas City's 40-26 win against Jacksonville after Hill left the game following his second catch.

He matched his 2018 season total with three touchdowns in the win and tallied 198 receiving yards on nine receptions

It is unclear just how long Hill will be out but in his absence coach Andy Reid made it clear Watkins, as well as rookie Mecole Hardman, will need to step into bigger playmaking roles.

Watkins, however, is seemingly modest about his big night. The fourth overall pick from the 2014 draft said he didn't see his role changing much, even after his impressive start.

"I think we got the same roles," he told SI.com on his way to the airport after the game. "The same particular roles. Same for me. I think we got the other guys to step up. We got Mecole Hardman in the second round. We got Demarcus Robinson. We got so many guys that can step up and play that position. I'm not really worried. Do we need 10? Do we need Tyreek? Yes, we do. I don't think I would've scored a couple touchdowns without him affecting the defense.

"I think he has an intricate part. We're gonna have to find a way to win in the next six, seven weeks with him being out. I think we have the coaches to do that."

Hill suffered a shoulder injury that caused him to be hospitalized during the season opener.

He was injured after getting tackled by Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

According to the NFL Network, the Chiefs will take some time before determining their next move with the injured wide receiver. Options on the table range from his missing a few games to being placed on injured reserve.

Kansas City will now get ready for another away game and visit Oakland in Week 2 before it plays host to the Ravens for its home opener.
