Saints guard Andrus Peat was carted off the field during the first half of Sunday's NFC wild-card playoff game against the Panthers.

Peat was sprawled on the turf in obvious pain. The injury was initially believed to be a shin injury, and he was ruled questionable to return, but according to NFL.com, Peat suffered a broken fibula.

The report stated that Peat would miss the remainder of the game and will have an MRI to determine if he suffered ligament damage.

Senio Kelemete, who started six games this season, replaced Peat in the lineup.

The Saints were already worried about left tackle Terron Armstead's availability Sunday, but he started and the Saints carried just seven offensive lineman against the Panthers, meaning they have just one sub remaining.
