While he remains in concussion protocol, New England tight end Rob Gronkowski was on the practice field Saturday for the first time since sustaining a concussion in the AFC championship game, a positive sign for the Patriots as they prepare for Super Bowl 52, the Boston Herald reports.
Under the NFL’s concussion protocol, players are allowed to participate in non-contact portions of practice before being cleared by an independent doctor.
Gronkowski was listed as “OUT” on the Patriots’ injury report Friday, meaning he would not have played if New England had a game this Sunday. Fortunately, there’s another week for Gronk to get healthy for the Eagles.
