Orlando Scandrick's stint in Washington was short-lived.
The Redskins have released the veteran cornerback just five months after signing him, coach Jay Gruden told reporters Tuesday.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo first reported the news.
Washington inked Scandrick to a two-year deal worth a maximum value of $10 million in March after he was cut by the Cowboys. He received a $1 million signing bonus in the spring, which is still a decent payout for a summer's work with the team.
The move indicates the Redskins have faith in young corners Quinton Dunbar and Fabian Moreau to successfully complement veteran Josh Norman going forward.
Scandrick, 31, was selected by the Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2008 draft. He recorded 38 total tackles and three defended passes in 11 games last season while also failing to record a single interception for just the second time in his 10-year career in Dallas.
