Raiders vs. Rams odds, prediction, betting tips for NFL Week 14 'Thursday Night Football' image

When the Raiders (5-7) take on the Rams (3-9) to open Week 14 of the 2022 NFL season on "Thursday Night Football" (8:15 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime Video), they will be looking to keep their slim AFC wild-card hopes alive.

Las Vegas used to play in Los Angeles and should have a favorable crowd on the road at SoFi Stadium. The Raiders have won three straight games over the Broncos, Seahawks and Chargers and will be prepared for another lesser L.A. team.

The Rams are riddled with injuries minus Matthew Stafford and Aaron Donald, among others. The Raiders are getting hot again for a late playoff push.

Here's everything to know about betting on Raiders vs. Rams in Week 14, including updated odds, trends and our expert's prediction for "Thursday Night Football."

Raiders vs. Rams odds for Thursday Night Football

  • Spread: Raiders by 6
  • Over/under: 44.5
  • Moneyline: Raiders -250, Rams +200

The Raiders ()have been healthy road favorites at just below a touchdown and extra point all week. It should feel like another home game to them. The Rams' defense is getting weaker without Donald, too, to raise that total.

Raiders vs. Rams all-time series

The teams have played only 14 times before TNF and the Raiders have a slim 8-6 lead. Over the past 20 seasons, however, the Rams have won four of the past five meetings. Before then the Raiders had won six of seven.

Three trends to know

—62 percent of spread bettors are siding with the red-hot Raiders to win another game by at least 7 points against the other Los Angeles teams.

—62 percent of total bettors are siding with the game going over given the state of both defenses.

—The Raiders have covered in half of their games and half of their games have gone over this season. The Rams are 4-7 against the spread with only five games going over.

Three things to watch

Josh Jacobs vs. the Rams run defense

Los Angeles has the No. 4-ranked run defense, giving up on average 96.7 rushing yards per game. But the team is weaker with no Donald and the linebackers not playing well as of late. Jacobs is carrying the Raiders to big things of late and the NFL's leading rusher will be hard to contain.

Cam Akers vs. the Raiders run defense

With their shaky quarterback situation, the Rams will lean a lot on Akers after he carried the ball 17 times for 60 yards and 2 TDs against the Seahawks. He nearly fueled an upset with that grinding performance. The Raiders are the No. 14 run defense, allowing on average 113.8 yards per game.

A streaky Derek Carr

The Raiders' quarterback has had a great second half of the season with his downfield passing game and efficiency. He can struggle at any time, however, disappointing when least expected. He should handle this matchup well after Geno Smith lit up the Rams' pass defense.

Stats that matter

41 catches, 67 targets, 664 yards, 7 TDs. Those are the numbers of Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams the past five games. His reheated chemistry with Carr has been a big reason for the Raiders' offensive turnaround, right there with Jacobs.

Raiders vs. Rams prediction

Between Carr, Adams and Jacobs and no Donald, the Rams will have their hands full against the Raiders. Their offense can move the ball a little with Akers set up some big pass plays, but there's not early enough to match what they give up.

Raiders 27, Rams 20
