When the Raiders (1-3) travel to face the Chiefs (3-1) to close Week 5 of the 2022 NFL regular season on "Monday Night Football" (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN), they will be looking to stay in the AFC West race early against their archrivals.

Kansas City is coming off an impressive road victory over Tampa Bay, while Las Vegas beat Denver for its first win of the season in Week 4. Patrick Mahomes has been terrific as a strong MVP candidate passing for the Chiefs, while Derek Carr has struggled in the new Raiders offense under Josh McDaniels.

Raiders vs. Chiefs all-time series

The Chiefs have pulled away of late for a 70-54-2 lead. They have won three straight games and also eight of nine. Going back to 2014, it's 13 of 15. The Raiders did win, however, in Kansas City, 40-32 in 2020.

Three trends to know

—53 percent of the spread bettors are liking the Chiefs to take care of the comfortable number at home.

—A whopping 75 percent of total bettors are easily taking the over despite the big number there.

The Raiders are 1-3 against the spread this season after going 8-10 ATS last season. The Chiefs are 2-2 against the spread this season after going 10-10 ATS last season.

Three things to watch

Travis Kelce rocks the Raiders

Kelce, in 16 career games against the Raiders, has 87 catches to match his jersey number for 1,228 yards and 7 TDs. Las Vegas is once again struggling to cover the tight end and he is having another dominant season. It might need to settle for letting Kelce go off and just try to contain the Chiefs' lesser wide receivers.

Will the Chiefs slow down Josh Jacobs?

Jacobs has look good carrying the load for the rushing attack and his dominant performance against the Broncos in Week 5. He had 28 attempts for 144 yards and has averaged 4.8 yards per carry for the season. The Chiefs have shored up their run defense but remain vulnerable against pass-catching backs.

Can Carr keep up with Mahomes?

Carr hasn't lived up to high expectations. He should perform better with ace slot go-to guy Hunter Renfrow back to support Davante Adams and Darren Waller. Carr tends to have his best passing game against the Chiefs and has to be off-the-charts great to outduel Mahomes.

Stat that matters

112.4. That's the career passer rating of Mahomes vs. the Raiders in eight starts and he's a dominant 7-1 against them. The loss in 2020 was fluky with an untimely turnover late. Kansas City should have no trouble moving the ball all night passing and running on Las Vegas.

Raiders vs. Chiefs prediction

Mahomes is playing too well with all of his new-look weapons and Kelce to think he will falter at home against a shreddable defense with little pressure and weak overall coverage. Carr is playing too poorly to trust on the road. He will likely have some good passing numbers, too, but expect sacks against and turnovers to doom the Raiders.

Chiefs 38, Raiders 27
