The second-year player out of North Carolina State is best known for his good work as a starter for the Patriots during Tom Brady's Deflategate suspension. He completed 34-of-55 passes for 400 yards in three games last season.

There had been speculation the Pats would keep Brissett around as a third quarterback behind Brady and Jimmy Garopppolo, especially after he went 28-of-39 for 341 yards, with four touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown against the Giants in the Pats' preseason finale this week.

Dorsett, the Colts' first-round pick (No. 29 overall) in 2015, had 33 catches for 528 yards and two scores last season.
