Benjamin Watson is back on the Patriots roster one week after he was cut.

According to The MMQB, the veteran tight end re-signed with New England Tuesday morning and will be on the roster for Monday's game at the Jets.

The move comes after coach Bill Belichick said last week that the team decided to cut Watson because there was not enough room on the roster. Watson was suspended the first four games of the season after he violated the league's performance-enhancing drug policy, which is why it wasn't until Oct. 7 that he was cut.

However, injuries within New England's 53-man roster have allowed the team to make room for Watson.

Fullback Jakob Johnson (shoulder), tight end Matt LaCosse (knee) and receiver Josh Gordon (knee) all were hurt in last week's win over the Giants. Since second-year tight end Ryan Izzo is standing alone in the position at the moment, it makes sense to bring a veteran like Watson back.

The move should make quarterback Tom Brady happ after he seemed displeased last week that the team decided to let Watson go.

"Ben's a great player. He's been a great player for this team, for other teams. He's had an incredible career," Brady said after Watson was released. "He was right next to me [in the locker room], and for as great as a player he was, he was 10 times a better person, just the highest integrity. I can't say enough good things about Ben, what he's meant to me, my family, our team."
