Packers vs. Rams odds, prediction, betting tips for NFL Week 15 'Monday Night Football' image

When the Packers (5-8) host the Rams (4-9) to close NFL Week 15 on "Monday Night Football" (8:15 p.m. ET), they will be trying to save their slim NFC wild-card chances.

Green Bay has had a frustrating season to fall from a 13-4 season in 2021. Los Angeles, which won Super Bowl 56 as a 12-5 team, has fallen harder. Now the teams hope to finish 2022 strong to carry momentum into 2023.

Aaron Rodgers is still starting at quarterback for the Packers and will duel Baker Mayfield, the Rams' fourth starting QB of the season. The Rams and Packers' defenses also have disappointed.

Packers vs. Rams all-time series

The Packers have a slim lead of 48-47-2 in 97 meetings. They have two in a row and four but also seven of eight and eight of 10. The Rams will try to reserve that recent domination, lncluding 32-18 and 36-28 defeats in 2021, the former coming in the playoffs.

Three trends to know

—54 percent of spread bettors are siding with the Rams to cover on the road after their home upset win over Raiders in Week 14.

—60 percent of total bettors are attacking the very low number for.a Rodgers game at Lambeau and taking the over.

—The Packers are only 5-8 against the spread this season with 7 games going over. The Rams are only 5-7 ATS with only 5 games going over.

Three things to watch

Packers' wide receivers vs. Rams CB Jalen Ramsey

Rodgers finally has his full complement of wideouts together with Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and dynamic rookies Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson. He has build confidence in Doubs and Watson, with the latter becoming a big-play and scoring machine. Ramsey can account for only one of those players in coverage, leaving Rodgers with some good matchups.

No Aaron Donald vs. the Packers' offensive line

The Packers are hurting on the edge with an injured David Bakhtiari, but they've been pretty good inside, especially in the running game. They should be able to have success pounding Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon and setting up favorable play-action to those wideouts.

Mayfield's first start for the Rams

Mayfield should also be leaning on the running game with Cam Akers to attack the Packers' run defense weakness and facilitate his downfield passing to his remaining healthy weapons.

Stats that matter

5-1 and 109.9. That's the record and passer rating of Rodgers in six games against the Rams. He also was spectacular in the lone playoff meeting. Rodgers will have some Monday motivation here to turn away Mayfield.

Packers vs. Rams prediction

The Packers just have more around their QB. Rodgers will have one of his best performances of the season with more elements in his favor over Mayfield, including desperation mode. A forecast that calls for temperatures in the teens calls for a classic victory on the "frozen tundra."

Packers 27, Rams 17
