Any time the NFL plays international games at soccer stadiums, the field conditions are a cause for concern.

There weren't expected to be any issues when the Packers and Eagles faced off at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, though. The home of Brazil's Corinthians FC uses "GrassMaster," a product that is a blend of real grass mixed with elements of turf fibers.

The only two NFL stadiums that use the same material for their playing surfaces are Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field and Green Bay's Lambeau Field — the home of the Eagles and Packers, respectively.

But only took five minutes of game time to realize that the turf was going to be an issue in this contest.

The Packers were forced to punt on their first drive of the game but pinned the Eagles on their 10-yard line.

Star running back Saquon Barkley lined up in the backfield, ready to take his first carry in a Philadelphia uniform. The highly anticipated play never got off the ground, though, as Barkley slipped on the turf as he planted to accelerate, which resulted in a loss of five yards.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts threw an interception later in the drive, setting up the Packers for a prime scoring opportunity in the red zone.

Four plays into the ensuing Green Bay drive, rising star quarterback Jordan Love dropped back to pass and slid on his final step, resulting in an incomplete pass.

Those were far from the only two examples.

One possession later, Love had Christian Watson open in the end zone, but the Packers' wide receiver appeared to lose his footing as he tracked the ball. (Love also appeared to overthrow Watson, but the slip did not help.)

NBC sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung said that players were already beginning to swap out their cleats for better traction options in the first quarter. Even one of the referees spent some time on the sideline stretching out a calf injury after slipping on the turf.

The players will surely have something to say about the playing conditions after the game. Indeed, NBA star LeBron James already voiced his opinion from afar.
