O.J. Simpson will be a free man as soon as Monday, although it’s not clear where he’ll go next.
Since Oct. 1 — the date on which the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners ruled in July that Simpson could be released — falls on a Sunday, Monday is the earliest Simpson can walk, USA Today notes.

Simpson has spent the last nine years at Lovelock Correctional Center in northern Nevada, serving a sentence for a 2007 armed robbery in Las Vegas.
While Simpson said at his parole hearing that he intended to live with a friend in Florida upon his release, the Florida Department of Corrections has not received the required paperwork that would allow him to do so, according to USA Today. Nor has the state of California, where Simpson's sister, Shirley Baker, and oldest daughter, Arnelle, live, an official with that state’s prison system said.
Simpson's attorney, Malcolm LaVergne, said he had no information regarding where Simpson will live, and that it’s up to Simpson to make relocation plans on his own.
Keast said while she heard Simpson may stay in Nevada, "everybody calls me with a different story."
With Nevada prison officials wary of the heavy media presence expected for Simpson’s release, Keast plans to provide media with videos, photos and other information to keep them at bay and the public safe.
"The big deal isn't when we release him or how we release him or what," she said. "The big deal is that we keep it safe for the community. That's huge. We serve our public and the people of Nevada don't need to deal with this garbage."
