Ohio State has been a factory for producing NFL players in recent years.
In the history of the seven-round NFL draft, which dates back to 1994, Ohio State has had 196 players drafted to the NFL before the 2024 NFL Draft. Next closest is Alabama with 178.
The expectation when the 2023 college season came to a close that Ohio State would again send plenty of players to the NFL again. There was of course Marvin Harrison Jr., but the roster boasted plenty of other standouts including wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, EDGE J.T. Tuimoloau, corner Denzel Burke and running back TreVeyon Henderson who expected to be early selections.
But that junior class largely wound up staying intact. Egbuka, Tuimoloau, Burke and Henderson, among others, all came back to Columbus, meaning there were fewer Buckeyes going to the NFL draft than there have been in years past.

Not since the 2013 draft have the Buckeyes had fewer than five players selected by NFL teams. It appears likely this year's draft will wind up featuring the fewest players drafted since then.
How many players have been drafted or are expected to be selected? Here's what you need to know.
Ohio State players drafted in 2024 NFL Draft
Here's a look at the Buckeyes drafted so far in the 2024 class:
- Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Arizona Cardinals (No. 4 overall)
- Michael Hall Jr., DT, Cleveland Browns (No. 54 overall)
- Cade Stover, TE, Houston Texans (No. 123 overall)
- Tommy Eichenberg, LB, Las Vegas Raiders (No. 148 overall)
There was plenty of speculation the Cardinals might trade out of the No. 4 slot with a QB-needy team. Instead, Arizona took the first non-quarterback in the draft, selecting Harrison with the No. 4 pick.
The Browns picked the in-state defensive tackle, landing Michael Hall Jr. in the second round as Cleveland's first pick of 2024. Then on Day 3, the Texans traded up with the Eagles to reunite C.J. Stroud with his former linebacker-turned-tight-end Cade Stover in the fourth round.
In the fifth round, linebacker Tommy Eichenberg was selected by the Raiders, potentially marking the final Buckeye drafted in the 2024 class.
