Reports surfaced earlier Friday that the Eagles were looking to either trade or release the 33-year-old Bennett, who is scheduled to make $7.2 million in 2019. According to the reports, the team wanted him to take a pay cut and accept a reduced role.

That was a no-go for Bennett, a three-time Pro Bowl selection from 2015-17.

“I’m not willing to take a pay cut,” Bennett told NFL Network Friday. “I actually want a pay raise at this point, and so just to know that whatever team I go to, I want to be paid more than I’m getting paid now.”

Bennett, who is best known for his five seasons with the Seahawks' dominating "Legion of Boom" defense, joined the Eagles last season and recorded nine sacks, 15 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. The 10-year-veteran has 63 career sacks and 327 tackles.
