NFL trade rumors: Cowboys close to acquiring DE Robert Quinn from Dolphins image

The Cowboys are closing to finalizing a long-rumored addition to their defensive front. 

Dallas has the "parameters in place" to acquire defensive end Robert Quinn from the Dolphins, NFL Media reported Thursday. Quinn reportedly will be sign a new one-year contract to faciliate the trade. 

Quinn is entering the final year of a four-year, $57 million deal he signed with the Rams in 2015. He was traded to the Dolphins in March 2018.

The 28-year-old reportedly visited Dallas last week, and the two front offices apparently hammered out a deal during the NFL meetings earlier this week in Arizona. 

Quinn had 6 1/2 sacks for Miami last season and has 69 in his career. The 14th overall pick in the 2011 draft, Quinn is a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was a first-team All-Pro in 2013 after racking up 19 sacks for St. Louis.
