'Concerning' Raiders lineman not suspended for hurting official in Broncos brawl, refs union says image

Raiders guard Gabe Jackson was ejected from Sunday's game against the Broncos for his role in a brawl that resulted in the suspensions of Aqib Talib and Michael Crabtree. Jackson was not suspended however, much to the chagrin of the NFL Referees Association.

The union sent a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell Thursday saying it was "concerned" Jackson was not suspended because he forcefully pushed down and injured official Laird Hayes to make his way into the fight. According to the memo obtained by TheMMQB.com, Hayes went to the doctor Monday with bruised ribs and shortness of breath.

Jackson (No. 66), appeared to run into the thick of the fight started by Talib and Crabtree and clearly shoved Hayes to the ground. He was ejected for making contact with an official.

Talib and Crabtree were suspended two games (later reduced to one) for enticing the fight and throwing punches.

Despite the injury, Hayes is expected to work on Walt Anderson's crew Monday night for the Steelers-Bengals game.
