The Lions have parted ways with offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports, noting the decision was mutual.
Rapoport said Cooter has received requests to interview with other teams. Sporting News lists Cooter as one of the the top candidates for the open head coaching positions in Tampa Bay and Denver.

After finishing seventh in the NFL in scoring last season, the Lions regressed this year, ranking 25th in points and 24th in yards. Veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 3,777 yards, his lowest yardage total ever in a full season.
The 34-year-old Cooter joined the Lions as quarterbacks coach in 2014 and was promoted to OC the following season. The former Tennessee quarterback had previous stints with the Colts, Chiefs and Broncos.
