The Eagles have made it clear Carson Wentz is their quarterback for 2019.

The big question is, what should the team do with Nick Foles? The backup QB has starred in Wentz's absence the past two seasons, including their Super Bowl championship run last year.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Saturday the team is expected to pick up Foles' 2019 contract option for $20 million. The Eagles and Foles would then have several options to set up his future with another team.

According to Rapoport, Foles could be traded after the Eagles pick up the option. Or, he could give the Eagles $2 million to "buy his freedom" and become a free agent. Alternately, Foles could give the Eagles $2 million and the team could then franchise tag him and look to trade him.

"Either way, it's a little bit of a game of chicken right now," Rapoport said on "Super Bowl LIVE." "We do not know how the Eagles are going to proceed after Foles gives them $2 million back for his freedom."

Given Foles' late-season heroics the past two years, he should be a hot commodity. Among possible destinations mentioned for Foles are the Jaguars, Dolphins, Broncos, Bengals and Redskins.
