LeBron James: 'Deshaun Watson should be a Brown' image

In an attempt to clear up comments made Saturday regarding NBA rookie point guards, LeBron James stepped into the NFL arena and brought the lowly Browns into the conversation.

Necessary context: James said Saturday that Dennis Smith Jr., who was selected ninth overall by the Dallas Mavericks, should be with the Knicks, the team that passed on him at No. 8 in favor of Frank Ntilikina of France.

James said Monday his remarks were a dig at former Knicks president Phil Jackson and then made a curious NFL parallel sure to stir things up in Cleveland.

“I think Deshaun Watson should be a Brown,” James said before the Cavs’ shootaround at Madison Square Garden. “Doesn’t mean that Myles Garrett isn’t going to be a great football player. But Deshaun Watson should’ve been our quarterback. Doesn’t mean you’re sh—ing on the next guy. It’s just that you stating what you see.”

Garrett was selected No. 1 overall, while Watson went 12th to the Houston Texans where he built a case for league MVP before tearing his ACL.

As for Garrett, he’s looked great in four games with 12 tackles and four sacks.
