NFL injury news: Ravens place RB Alex Collins on IR, activate RB Kenneth Dixon image

The Ravens have placed running back Alex Collins (foot) on injured reserve and activated running back Kenneth Dixon, the team announced Saturday.

A third-year pro, Collins rushed for 973 yards in 15 games last season, his first with the Ravens. This season has been a disappointment, though. Collins rushed for 411 yards in 10 games, and at 3.6 yards per carry, averaged a full yard less than he did in 2017.

Dixon, in his second season, has not played since suffering a knee injury in Week 1.

The Ravens could be thin at running back Sunday against the Falcons. Rookie Gus Edwards, who rushed for more than 100 yards the past two games, is listed as questionable (ankle) even though he practiced Friday.
