New York released the 24-year-old Tuesday and he cleared waivers Wednesday before visiting Jacksonville on Thursday, making the Jaguars (3-2) the favorites to land him.

Flowers never lived up to the expectations that came with being the ninth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft and quickly fell out of favor in New York. The Giants reportedly tried to trade him last spring and declined the fifth-year option on his rookie contract, ensuring he would be a free agent after this season.
Nonetheless, he opened the year as the starting right tackle under new coach Pat Shurmur — but it didn't last. Flowers was benched after two games before the team cut him loose this week.
The move to the Jaguars makes some sense, as Tom Coughlin was coach of the Giants during Flowers' rookie season. Jacksonville also has lost tackles Cam Robinson and Josh Wells to injured reserve this season.
