NFL reportedly fines Sean Payton, Pete Carroll $10K for entering playing field image

Saints coach Sean Payton and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll will pay the price for going on the field in Week 14 games.

The NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Friday the NFL has fined each coach $10,000 "for improperly entering the playing field."

Carroll went on the field during the melee at the end of the Seahawks' 30-24 loss to the Jaguars in Jacksonville last Sunday. He said afterward he went out to calm down his players, and the game was over at that point.

Payton charged on the field late in the Saints' loss to the Falcons to complain that an official hadn't granted New Orleans a timeout. Like Carroll, Payton drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for going on the field.

Pelissero also reported that Jaguars assistant coaches Pat Flaherty and Keenan McCardell were fined $10,000 each for being on the field during that late-game altercation.
