As the 2018 fantasy football draft season approaches, we will showcase a player to draft and a player to avoid from all 32 teams.

The Los Angeles Chargers ended a two-year slump with a 9-7 record last year, and they look poised to light up scoreboards this season.

With quarterback Philip Rivers back after throwing for 4,510 yards and 28 touchdowns, feeding a deep receiving corps, the Chargers look set for for some entertainment. The defense might still be shaky, which should make Chargers games fun to watch.

Here is a player to draft and avoid in fantasy this season:

Draft:

Melvin Gordon, RB — He is by far the safest bet to produce on this team. Without any real threat cutting into his snaps, and an increased role in the passing game, Gordon looks like a solid bet for 1,500 yards and 10-plus touchdowns.

Gordon had more than 1,500 yards from scrimmage last year with 12 touchdowns. Though he still failed to showcase explosiveness as a runner (3.9 yards per carry), he showed enough improvement to earn a late first-round selection in all fantasy formats.

Avoid:

Mike Williams, WR — Injuries forced Williams to basically suffer a lost year in 2017 after Los Angeles used a top-10 pick on him in the draft. While Williams is expected to start the season at full health, and his 6-3 frame suggests he could be red-zone weapon, there are just too many question marks.

A gambling man could reap a ton of rewards selecting Williams, but the Chargers have four quality wide receivers and a touchdown-hogging running back, making Williams far from a sure thing.
