Michigan linebacker and co-captain Devin Bush will forgo his senior year as he announced Wednesday his intentions to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft.
Bush, considered a first-round prospect by many NFL draft analysts, shared the news on Twitter and explained his decision, citing recent injuries and his desire to get healthy as his main reasons to enter the draft.
He also revealed that he will sit out the Peach Bowl on Dec. 29 because he has not been cleared to play following a hip injury suffered in the Wolverines' Nov. 24 loss to Ohio State.

"Despite getting treatment every day, I have not been cleared to practice or play in the Peach Bowl due to the hip injury I suffered in the last game," Bush wrote, in part. "Due to this injury, I have thought hard about my future in football. Having been injured I realize how fleeting this sport can be.
"It has always been a dream of mine to follow in my father's footsteps and play in the NFL. This injury has made me realize how important this goal is to me and my family."
Bush, named the Big Ten’s Defensive Player of the Year, has led the Wolverines in tackles the last two years. He tallied 66 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks this year and he compiled 95 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks as a sophomore.
The 20-year-old joins defensive end Rashan Gary as Wolverines who have declared for the draft. Gary also will skip the Peach Bowl.
