Terry Glenn, a former NFL wide receiver who had 1,000-yards receiving seasons for both the Patriots and Cowboys, died early Monday in a car crash, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

He was 43 years old.

Glenn was the seventh overall pick in the 1996 draft by the Patriots after a stellar, yet improbable, career at Ohio State.
Glenn walked on to the team in 1993 and eventually became the nation's best receiver in 1995 when he won the Fred Biletnikoff Award and was named a consensus first-team All-American.
In 1996, Glenn set a then-rookie record with 90 receptions for 1,132 yards and six touchdowns as the Patriots reached Super Bowl XXXI, which the Packers won 35-21.
Glenn had one more 1,000-yard season in New England (1999). He caught Tom Brady's first career touchdown pass in 2001 before a one-season stint in Green Bay (2002) and a four-season run in Dallas. He posted back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons in Dallas from 2005-06 before knee injuries eventually fazed him out of the league in 2008.
During his career, Glenn compiled 593 receptions for 8,823 yards and 44 touchdowns.
