The 2017 Cowboys had high hopes entering the season, but despite missing the playoffs at 9-7, Jason Garrett’s job is safe.

“He’s not on my hot seat,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said (via Star-Telegram.com). “I would like for Jason to repeat as Coach of the Year within 24 months."

Garrett seems to have the most job security in Dallas as the team has made sweeping changes among its staff, including new quarterbacks coach Kellen Moore, new wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal, new offensive line coach Paul Alexander and new secondary coach and defensive passing game coordinator Kris Richard, who was recently fired as defensive coordinator of the Seahawks.

The team is also still searching for a tight ends coach and linebackers coach.
