The Chargers placed tight end Hunter Henry on injured reserve Tuesday after suffering a lacerated kidney Saturday in a loss to the Chiefs.

Henry ended his season with 45 receptions for 611 yards and four touchdowns. He currently ranks tied for second on the team with Melvin Gordon in receiving touchdowns.

In a corresponding move, the Chargers promoted guard Brett Boyko to the active roster and signed tackle Andrew Wylie to the practice squad.

Los Angeles (7-7) fell one game behind the Chiefs in the AFC West with Saturday's loss, but they are still in playoff contention. The Chargers play the Jets in New York this weekend, and then host the Raiders to end the season. Both the division and the final wild-card spot are still up for grabs.
