NFL 2018 Week 9: Packers vs. Patriots preview, statistics, odds image

The New England Patriots are nearly unstoppable at home.

Tom Brady and Co. head into Week 9 looking to win their 10th straight regular season game at Gillette Stadium, with the Green Bay Packers standing in their way. At 6-2, the Patriots find themselves on their familiar perch atop the AFC East. New England has won five straight overall, with the most recent victory a 25-6 shellacking of the Buffalo Bills.

The Packers are nowhere near the lofty standards of their Week 9 opposition, but their 3-3-1 record puts them within striking distance of top spot in a muddled NFC North division. Green Bay has lost two of its last three games, with a 29-27 defeat to the Rams the most recent result.

Packers vs. Patriots head-to-head stats

  • The all-time series between the two teams is tied, 5-5.
  • The Patriots have taken two of the past three meetings with the Packers, although Green Bay holds the most recent victory (a 26-21 result in 2014 at Lambeau Field).
  • New England has avoided turning the ball over in the past two games against the Packers.
  • The Patriots are gunning for their fifth home winning streak of 10 games or more since 2000, which would break their tie with the Packers for the most such streaks in that span.
  • On the flip side, the Packers are looking to avoid their first six-game road losing streak since 1991.
  • Tom Brady has excelled against the Packers, throwing eight touchdown passes and zero interceptions for a 114.7 rating in his past three contests with Green Bay.
  • Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is aiming for his fourth consecutive game with a rating of 100.0 or higher. Rodgers had 368 passing yards for two TDs and zero INTs (112.6 rating) in his last meeting with New England.

Packers vs. Patriots betting odds

The Patriots are favoured by 5.5 at home. The over/under is 56.5.
