This week's Monday Nighter features a pair of teams that want a do-over from their first game of the season.
Week 1 saw both the Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears on the losing end of tightly contested games, and now the teams will meet in primetime in search of their first victory of the young NFL season.
The Bears were certainly on the receiving end of the more devastating Week 1 defeat, having squandered a 17-point fourth-quarter lead to fall to the Green Bay Packers. They'll have to quickly forget the first-week collapse when the Seahawks visit Soldier Field, as Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson showed that he can still be dangerous on the road by throwing for 298 yards and three touchdowns in his team's opening week loss.
Seahawks - Bears head-to-head statistics
- The Seahawks dominate this match-up, holding an 11-4 all-time regular season record against the Bears.
- Seattle's dominance is particularly notable in recent years, with the Seahawks currently on a four-game win streak against Chicago. The Seahawks have scored 20 or more points in each of those victories.
- If the Bears are going to break the streak, Khalil Mack may be a big factor. The 27-year-old had his second career interception in his debut with Chicago in Week 1, which he returned for a touchdown. That makes two career INTs for the new Bear, both resulting in TDs.
- If any Chicago player will be happy to return to Solider Field, it's Mitch Trubisky. The quarterback struggled in the opener in Green Bay and has a 4:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio at home (compared to a 1:2 ratio on the road).
Seahawks - Bears betting odds
The Bears open up as - 3.0 favorites at home. The over/under is set at 42.5.
