The NFC North felt like a division that was put on ice relatively quickly this season, as the Lions appeared primed to run away with it. Then Kirk Cousins went down for the Vikings, Justin Fields went down for the Bears and Jordan Love struggled to gain traction with the Packers, leaving everyone to triple down on Detroit. But just after Thanksgiving, the door is cracked open for a team like the Vikings, who are still afloat despite being without Cousins and Justin Jefferson.
Joshua Dobbs has been able to lead them to a 1-1 record despite the challenges, but they'll need to have a solid showing against the frisky Bears to truly get back into the race. Chicago continues to find ways to lose, despite being fairly competent with Fields under center. Now the question is whether he can do enough to convince the Bears to stick with him beyond 2023. There should be some scoring on the menu for Monday night in Minneapolis, leaving us with plenty of options to pick from for our DraftKings Showdown lineup.
Before we get into our lineup and strategy, here are the key scoring settings for DraftKings Showdown contests: They're full-point PPR and there are three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times a player's original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5.
Bears-Vikings DraftKings Picks: DFS lineup for Week 12 Monday Night Football
$50,000 budget, need at least one player from each team.
Captain (1.5x points, 1.5x salary): TE T.J. Hockenson, Vikings ($13,500)
Hockenson is undoubtedly Dobbs' favorite target, seeing 22 targets over the last two weeks. He's hauled in 15 of them for 189 yards and a touchdown. Hockenson has earned priority over the team's other receivers and that comes as no surprise considering how Dobbs operated in Arizona. As long as he's under center, Hockenson is a matchup-proof DFS option that should easily outpace his listed salary.
FLEX QB Justin Fields, Bears ($11,200)
Fields returned last week, looking like the quarterback that we saw before the injury. He was up to his usual antics on the ground, rushing for 104 yards on a whopping 18 carries. We should expect more of the same from him in Week 12 as Fields nurses that thumb injury back to full strength. As long as the quarterback continues to play without limitations, you'd be hard pressed to find many other quarterbacks with a higher fantasy ceiling. The real life version doesn't equate to many wins, but we are after stats in the box score, something that Fields have proven capable of producing for some time.
FLEX QB Joshua Dobbs, Vikings ($10,000)
Funny enough, Dobbs is fairly similar to Fields in the sense that he can put up solid fantasy numbers, but not many wins. Dobbs has rushed for a touchdown in five straight, finding plenty of success on the ground. His stats in the passing game haven't been that bad either, owning a 12-to-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio. The Bears are allowing the eighth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks (20.0), which bodes well for Dobbs in a game that could be a sneaky shootout on Monday night in Minnesota. Trust Kevin O'Connell to continue elevating the players in this offense.
FLEX WR Jordan Addison, Vikings ($8,200)
If you can't tell by now, we're all-in on this Vikings offense. The quarterback loves throwing to the tight ends, opening things up for the other weapons on offense. That's been the case for Addison, who hasn't seen the same volume that Hockenson had, but is still capable of producing explosive plays. The rookie is averaging 16.1 yards per reception since Dobbs arrived, but is yet to find the end zone. While a matchup with Jaylon Johnson might not help matters, we have faith in Minnesota working in the receiver enough to warrant fantasy consideration, especially if Justin Jefferson is out. The touchdowns will come eventually, especially if Hockenson continues to be peppered with targets.
FLEX RB Ty Chandler, Vikings ($5,800)
Alexander Mattison once had a chance to solidify his spot in the backfield when Dalvin Cook departed. Instead, he appears to be close to returning to his old role after an ineffective season. The Vikings have given him every chance, but the running back continues to lose time to whoever is the backup at the time. Chandler is just the latest to join that list, more effective as both a runner and receiver. He went for over 100 total yards last Sunday, something the current starter has only done once this season. Better yet, Chandler did that in just 26 snaps to Mattison's 48. It seems to be only a matter of time before this becomes more of a 50-50 split.
FLEX WR Tyler Scott, Vikings ($1,200)
Scott is bound to snag a long touchdown at some point. It's just a matter of when it happens, not if. Fields and backup Tyson Bagent have struggled to connect with the rookie receiver, but the speedster continues to be open down the field. The target volume isn't there right now, but it only takes one to make a difference. Our dart throw here allowed us to splurge elsewhere, meaning Scott can take a lineup with a high floor through the roof.

- Champion (+50% points): QB Joshua Dobbs, Vikings (Multiplier 1.8x)
- Super FLEX: TE T.J. Hockenson, Vikings (Multiplier 1.3x)
- Super FLEX: WR K.J. Osborn, Vikings (Multiplier 1.65x)
- Super FLEX: QB Justin Fields, Bears (Multiplier 1.1x)
- Super FLEX: WR D.J. Moore, Bears (Multiplier 1.15x)
These offenses have proven to be capable of putting up points and that means we should be able to see some scoring in Minnesota. That's why we prefer to carry over our Dobbs-Hockenson stack, while also putting Moore in a stack with Fields. If the Bears' defense keys in on Addison, Osborn can be a sneaky touchdown scorer on Monday night.
