Believe it or not, the NFC playoff matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is the highest-priced divisional round game in NFL history.

The average cost to attend the Lions' third home playoff in 30 years is $1,186, according to ticket retailer TickPick, twice as much is the previous highest-price game between the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys a year ago. The "get in" price – aka the cheapest tickets – for this one costs around $700.

Yes, people are paying that much money to watch Jared Goff and the Lions face the Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – two former No. 1 overall picks who've revitalized their respective careers on teams that didn't draft them.

But why shouldn't fans want to watch that? Both teams have been darlings of the 2023 season. The Lions went from one of the worst teams in the NFL to one of the best in head coach Dan Campbell's third season as head coach and won the NFC North for the first time since 1993, while the Buccaneers won the NFC South for the first time without Tom Brady under center since 2007 and just beat the reigning Super Bowl runner-up Philadelphia Eagles.

Detroit boasts an incredibly fun-to-watch offense as well with Goff under center, two stud running backs in Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery and a top-flight wide receiver in Amon-Ra St. Brown. The Lions finished with a top-5 overall offense and just exorcised both a playoff losing streak demon and a Matthew Stafford demon after taking down their former franchise quarterback and the Los Angeles Rams in the wild card.

Tampa Bay is a bit of strange team, as they've looked just as good as they did with Brady under center at times but also looked as bad as what people came to expect from a Mayfield-led team prior to this season.

When Mayfield is cooking, the offense hums with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin out wide and Rachaad White in the backfield, as evidenced by the 32-9 win a week ago. But then there're games where the offense mustered just nine points, like the Week 18 win over the Carolina Panthers. The defense your classic bend-but-don't-break unit, as it allowed fewer than 20 points per game but allowed 344 total yards per game.

The Lion crushed the Buccaneers the last time these two teams faced off in Week 6. Detroit won that one, 20-6, behind Goff's 353 passing yards and two touchdowns. Mayfield only threw for 206 yards, didn't throw a touchdown but did throw and interception.

Here's what you need to know about Sunday's divisional round clash between the Lions and the Buccaneers, including broadcast information and the start time for the game.
