Justin Fields has become must-see TV on the gridiron, but don't expect to see him on the screen anywhere else, anytime soon.
The hit Netflix show "Quarterback" has drawn rave reviews from fans and speculation about who will appear on season two has already begun. It gives an behind the scenes look at playing the most difficult position in sports — on and off the field.
NFL Films helped produce the series for the streaming giant and Fields became a popular choice after a breakout 2022. However, it doesn't appear that fans will get their wish. In speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Fields dismissed the idea.

"(Netflix) did actually reach out to me and I don't think I want to do it, just because I would rather keep everything the way it is around here," Fields said. "Just having cameras around the building, I think that might change the vibe of everyone. I just want to keep it natural and organic and really just focus on what’s going on in the building."

Cameras followed Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota for the 2022 season. The players were mic'd up for every game.
Fields ultimately decided that would likely be too much and made the decision himself. For fans that wanted to see No. 1 on the show, all hope is not lost yet. He kept the door cracked open to be featured in the future.
"Maybe down the road but I don't see myself doing it this year at least," Fields said. He later added that the show did manage to give a quarterback's perspective of playing the position. Fields acknowledged that it was cool to see how the signal callers in season one balanced their personal and professional lives.

This isn't the first time this offseason that Fields' Bears have dodged the NFL Films cameras. Chicago was one of four teams eligible to be selected for "Hard Knocks" without their consent, but the NFL eventually chose the Jets instead.
Fields is entering his third season after a rocky start in the NFL. He's been plagued by a poor supporting cast and coaching changes, in addition to finishing near the bottom of the standings. But that should change in 2023 thanks to some stability on the coaching staff and the addition of D.J. Moore in the receiver's room.
As for Netflix, it's considered unlikely to see Mahomes, Cousins or Mariota again in season two. With the latter being a backup in Philadelphia, the list of potential starters has now shrunk to 29.
Considering the nature of the series, fans will likely have to wait a year before seeing the finished product, meaning it could be some time before we have an official answer.
