New England is shutting Julian Edelman down.
The Patriots recevier has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jets after suffering a chest injury, the team announced.

NFL Media later reported Edelman suffered a rib injury but X-Rays were negative.
Edelman appeared to sustain the injury in the second quarter and initially was listed as questionable to return.

Fellow receiver Josh Gordon also left the game with an injury and even visited the medical tent but returned after halftime.
The Patriots held a 30-7 lead over the Jets at the end of the third quarter, so there's clearly no reason for coach Bill Belichich to rush Edelman back.
