Jadeveon Clowney's holdout apparently now has an end date.

The Texans defensive star, who is holding out of training camp amid a contract dispute, is tentatively set to report after Houston's third preseason game, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Monday.

"From what I understand, the tentative plan is to show up after the third preseason game — they play the Cowboys in late August," Rapoport said. "That is my understanding of when Clowney is planning to show up. (He) wouldn't play in the fourth preseason game. Would get a week to make sure he's alright. And I am told he's in great shape. And the Texans don't have any worries there."

Clowney, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, is seeking a long-term extension with Houston. Instead, the Texans placed the franchise tag on the edge rusher in March. Clowney has not signed the $15.967 million, one-year tender.

Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said Saturday he knows Clowney is working hard to get ready for the season.

"I think just from my knowledge of what I know, he's working hard," O'Brien said (via the Houston Chronicle). "We want him back. We need him here, but he'll come when he decides it's best for him to come."

The 26-year-old Clowney, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, had nine sacks last season.
