Isaiah Wynn injury update: Patriots offensive lineman (foot) to be placed on IR, report says image

Isaiah Wynn is going on injured reserve with a foot injury, according to ESPN.

The offensive tackle suffered the injury in New England's 43-0 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. The team has not officially announced his diagnosis yet after he underwent an MRI following the game.

Wynn, 22, missed all of his rookie season with an Achilles injury in 2018 and will now miss at least eight weeks as he will go on IR.

The Patriots took Wynn in the first round in 2018, but he has played two out of 18 possible games in his career for New England.

After allowing tackle Nate Solder to walk in free agency in 2018, Wynn was supposed to be part of the plan to replace the 6-foot-9 lineman, but it simply hasn't worked out yet.

New England also lost center David Andrews after he was hospitalized with blood clots in his lungs before the season.

He could miss all of 2019.

The Patriots traded for two offensive linemen before the beginning of the season as they tried to build up their depth.

Despite the problems on their offensive line, the Patriots have started the season 2-0, winning by a combined score of 76-3.

New England faces the Jets on Sunday.
