Giants' Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram back on practice field, near return, report says image

The Giants have been plagued with injuries to several stars this season, but a pair is nearing a return.

According to SportsNet New York, both Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram were on the practice field Monday and "have a chance to play" Sunday versus the Cardinals.

Barkley, who is recovering from an ankle injury and Engram, who suffered a knee injury, participated in individual drills, the report noted.

Sterling Shepard, who is dealing with a concussion, also took part in the light practice.

Barkley was able to return to practice two weeks ago and reportedly said he could beat his initial four- to eight-week timetable for recovery, but the Giants staff is taking a cautious approach in easing him back into action.

He initially injured his ankle in the second quarter of the Giants' Week 3 win over the Buccaneers.

Engram, who has been dealing with a seemingly nagging knee injury, is also easing back into practice after missing the Week 6 loss to the Patriots.

He still leads the team in catches (33) and receiving yards (373) despite missing time.

Engram also has two touchdown catches on the year.
