Giants vs. 49ers prediction, odds, spread, line, & betting picks for Week 3 TNF image

When the Giants and 49ers meet on "Thursday Night Football" (8:15 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime), it will open a Week 3 that has several large spreads in favor of the home team. Both New York (1-1) and San Francisco (2-0) made it to the NFC divisional playoffs last season, but the.latter, with its first home game of 2023, has played much better to start this season.

Will the Giants score a major upset or will the 49ers stay perfect? New York is fighting an uphill battle after needing to rally to beat lowly Arizona on the road last week and playing without running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) this week.

Here's a betting breakdown for the TNF Giants-49ers showdown, including picks, predictions, and our favorite prop.

Spread: Giants +10 (-110) | 49ers -10 (-110)
Over/Under: OVER 44.5 (-110) | UNDER 44.5 (-110)
Moneyline: Giants +400 | 49ers -550

The 49ers are double-digit favorites despite the backdoor Rams cover last week on the road and the Giants rallying to beat the Cardinals in Week 2. This line is more tied to the Week 1 results when the Giants lost 40-0 vs. Dallas and San Francisco won 30-7 in Pittsburgh.

Should you bet the 49ers against the spread?

San Francisco should be looking at two covers to start the season, first as slight favorites against the Steelers and 7.5- or 8-point favorites vs. the Rams. However, Los Angeles kicked a head-scratching field goal as time expired to cover the spread.

The Giants got steamrolled in Week 1 and didn't cover against the Cardinals in Week 2. Nothing really has to give here, and Barkley is a massive loss for an already shaky offense. This is Daniel Jones vs. a brutal defense on the road with the offensive line having key injuries to left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring) and left guard Ben Bredeson (concussion). The 49ers just have one injury concern with wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder), for which they can easily compensate offensively.

Our Pick: 49ers -10 (-110)

Should you bet the Giants vs. 49ers OVER?

No one would be shocked if the 49ers hit the OVER by themselves, but they should get some garbage-time help from the Giants after the game is in hand and Christian McCaffrey goes wild again on the ground. There also will be just enough Jake Moody field-goaling to do the trick late.

Our Pick: OVER 44.5 (-110)

Final score prediction: 49ers 33, Giants 14

Christian McCaffrey, RB, 49ers — OVER 81.5 rushing yards

MORE: Full SuperDraft parlay picks for TNF

McCaffrey leads the NFL with 268 rushing yards in two games, but he has just 36 receiving yards. He's also received a league-high 42 carries while averaging 6.4 yards per attempt. The Giants couldn't stop James Conner much on the road in Arizona last week, allowing him to hit the century mark. Don't be surprised if CMC hits this number on one long scoring run. Barring mid-game injury, cha-ching.
