As the 2018 fantasy football draft season approaches, we will showcase a player to draft and a player to avoid from all 32 teams.

The Philadelphia Eagles staved off the Patriots to win the Super Bowl last season, and they enter 2018 with their starting quarterback healthy again.

Carson Wentz missed the end of the regular season and all of the playoffs with a severe knee injury, but he has recovered in time for the start of this season.

With a plethora of offensive weapons on the roster, Philadelphia could be the first team to repeat as Super Bowl champions in 14 years, but can they help fantasy owners?

Here is one player to draft and one to avoid for the Eagles in fantasy football this season:

Draft:

Carson Wentz, QB — Athletes are always health risks fresh off major surgery, but Wentz went through all the proper rehab and looks ready to build on his breakthrough 2017 season. He threw for 33 touchdowns with only seven interceptions last year, while throwing for 3,296 yards and rushing for 299 more.

Wentz is big, strong and athletic. He has three wide receivers to work with, all of whom can get downfield but also help Wentz in the red zone. The Eagles already had a great tight end in Zach Ertz, and then they selected Dallas Goedert in the second round of the draft. Expect Wentz to pick up where he left off.

Avoid:

Jay Ajayi, RB — Sure, he had nearly 500 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns on just 80 touches (70 carries, 10 receptions) with the Eagles last year after getting traded by the Dolphins at midseason. Also, LeGarrette Blount is out of town, making Ajayi the prime candidate to lead the backfield.

So, he's a first-round pick in fantasy drafts, right? No. While we get the allure, Ajayi has not consistently proven he can handle a full workload. The Eagles are also high on Corey Clement, who enjoyed success as a rusher and receiver last year as a rookie. Look for Clement to earn more work this season, making this a semi-timeshare. Ajayi is a solid fifth-round pick but nothing more.
