Manning, a two-time Super Bowl MVP and a popular figure in New York, had made 210 consecutive starts before being benched for Sunday's game by the now-fired Ben McAdoo. Giants general manager Jerry Reese was also fired Monday, muddling how New York plans to shape its roster, which is in the midst of a 2-10 season.
One thing is for certain: Manning will be entering his age-37 season in 2018 and has two years and $22 million guaranteed remaining on his deal.
