Eagles injury updates: Alshon Jeffery expected to play, DeSean Jackson likely out vs. Packers image

Alshon Jeffery is expected to return to the Eagles lineup against the Packers while DeSean Jackson will likely remain sidelined, Eagles coach Doug Pederson told reporters in a conference call Tuesday.

"I fully expect and anticipate Alshon, you know, to (be available)," Pederson said (via ESPN). "He was limited yesterday and hopefully he can go full today and be ready to go. ... DeSean is probably a little further away. His injury is a little bit more week to week and so he's probably not going to be there this week."

Jeffery, 29, is dealing with a calf strain and missed Philadelphia's 27-24 loss to the Lions last week. He has caught five passes for 49 yards with a score in two appearances so far this season.

Jackson, meanwhile, has not played since suffering a core injury in Week 2.  He pulled in two touchdown catches in the Eagles' season-opening win over the Redskins.

"Listen, the season's young, we'll get these guys healthy and hopefully we can get things turned around soon," Pederson said.

Philadelphia dropped seven passes and fell to 1-2 with the loss to Detroit.

"We have trust in our players," Pederson told reporters after that game. "Defense had some nice stops late in the game, obviously, we had the blocked field goal for an opportunity there. So, yeah a lot of trust in our guys, and we just have to execute a little better."

The Eagles will face the Packers in Green Bay on Thursday with kickoff set for 8:20 p.m. ET.
