Neither the Eagles nor the Buccaneers head into their wild card matchup very healthy.
The Eagles could be without star wide receiver A.J. Brown, who suffered a knee injury in Week 18, and quarterback Jalen Hurts, who suffered a finger injury but returned against the Giants. The Buccaneers could be without quarterback Baker Mayfield after he suffered ankle and rib injuries.
Both teams looked bad in their respective regular season finales, too. The Eagles were being blown out by the Giants before Philadelphia pulled the starters, while the Buccaneers managed just nine points against the Panthers.
Philadelphia gave up 24 points in the first half to the Giants a week after allowing the Cardinals to put 35 on the scoreboard. In total, the Eagles allow 25.2 points per game, which ranks 30th in the NFL.
Tampa Bay has just been maddeningly inconsistent. The Buccaneers blew out of the Jaguars at home on Christmas Eve, then were humbled at home against the Saints before eking out a win over the Panthers. Part of that is on Mayfield, while the defense also is hit or miss depending on the opponent.
