Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to remove cartilage, but could be back by Week 7 against the Lions, according to ESPN.com.

Wake, 36, has just one sack this season, but he remains an important part of Miami's defense, and a still dangerous pass-rush partner to Robert Quinn.

Though this sort of surgery usually requires up to four weeks of recovery time, ESPN sources claim Wake could return to face the Lions next weekend.

Wake, who has 93 career sacks, also missed last week's game against the Bengals.

The Dolphins are also without quarterback Ryan Tannehill Sunday against the Bears, meaning Brock Osweiler will get the start under center.
