Bears legend Dick Butkus goes viral with hilarious (and confusing) Twitter takeover: 'Oops didn’t mean to tweet that' image

Chicago Bears fans reacted with confusion on Tuesday night when their team's official Twitter account posted what seemed to be a video taken in someone's pocket.

The culprit? None other than Bears legend Dick Butkus.

Minutes after the first video was posted, another went up of the legendary Bears linebacker posing with his own jersey at the team facility.

"Don't say anything, but I just got their Twitter account password," he says to the camera.

The 79-year-old Butkus went on to delight the Bears' following with an account takeover lasting several hours.

First, he let fans vote in a poll on what he should do with his newfound power. The winning answer? Find head coach Matt Eberflus

Spoiler alert, Butkus found him.

It didn't go off without a hitch, though. At one point, Butkus posted what was apparently an accidental selfie.

Followed promptly by:

And then some confusion over what platform he was on:

Butkus went on to share memories from his favorite game as a Bear, in which running back Gale Sayers scored six touchdowns.

"It was against the 49ers at Wrigley Field," Butkus said.

"Coach [George] Halas took him out off the game when we were on the 1-yard line of the 49ers... Theoretically, Gale should've scored seven touchdowns."

The takeover finally ended after Butkus didn't approve of a request from the Bears' social media team.

Guess that's where Dick draws the line. Hopefully he found a good restaurant.
