Cordy Glenn isn't fueling the rumors that he and the Bengals are at odds.
The offensive lineman has been noticeably absent for Cincinnati's first six games of the season, but said Thursday he has been out with a concussion.
"I think the only thing that happened honestly is I got hurt," Glenn told reporters in his first interview since August, via the Bengals' website. "That's just all that happened. It's not about not wanting to play."
Glenn has been out since the second preseason game and was suspended for Week 7's game against the Jaguars for internal discipline reasons. According to a report from ProFootballTalk, Glenn and a Bengals coach got into a shouting match, which resulted in the suspension.
Glenn participated in individual drills Thursday, but it's unclear if he will be well enough to play in Sunday's game against the Rams.
"We gotta see some people get through practice before we consider playing him, and that hasn't happened with him," coach Zac Taylor said.
Glenn, 30, was traded from the Bills to the Bengals in March after he spent his first six seasons in the league with Buffalo. If he is able to play Sunday, he will try and help the Bengals secure their first win of the season.
"Of course I want to prove myself and do my share around here and help the team win and help out however I can," Glenn said. "It was just an injury and I'm trying to move forward."
