Nick Foles suffered a season-ending rib injury in the Colts' 38-10 Week 17 loss to the Giants after taking a sack from Kayvon Thibodeaux.
There was nothing clearly malicious about the play itself. Thibodeaux just landed on Foles and the veteran quarterback came up writhing in pain.
But Thibodeaux's celebration after it? That's where Colts interim coach Jeff Saturday believes Thibodeaux took it too far.
"Tasteless from a celebration standpoint," Saturday told reporters Monday of Thibodeaux's antics, per Gregg Doyel of the Indianapolis Star. "Trash."

Thibodeaux's celebration did go on for quite a while on the field. He made a fake snow angel in the Colts' backfield as Foles writhed around in pain on the ground next to him.

That said, the rookie told reporters after that game that he was unaware that Foles had been injured during the play.
"When I did realize that he was hurt, that’s when we started getting up," Thibodeaux said, per ESPN's Kimberly A. Martin. "When you’re doing a celebration, you’re not looking to see who’s doing what. But I hope he gets well and I hope he’s all right."

Saturday doesn't appear to be buying that explanation, as he was clearly still irate with Thibodeaux. He also wasn't happy with his offensive line — among others — for not stepping up and getting in Thibodeaux's face after that incident.
"We’ll have a discussion about it," Saturday said.
Saturday also wasn't the only one that wasn't a big fan of Thibodeaux's celebration. Giants nose tackle Dexter Lawrence gave his teammate low marks for it, albeit for a different reason than Saturday.
"There was no snow. It wasn't even cold outside," Lawrence said when assessing the celebration, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic. "So it's a zero for me."
