The Colts are sticking with their newest starting quarterback.

Jacoby Brissett was thrust into the role after Andrew Luck shockingly retired less than two weeks before the start of the season.

He quickly resumed QB1 duties and now has a contract to back it up.

According to the NFL Network, which cited unidentified league sources, the two parties agreed to a two-year, $30 million extension.

Brissett will get a $20 million signing bonus, the report noted.

The new deal will secure Brissett through the 2021 season, a report from The Athletic added.

Brissett, who entered the league as a third-round pick by the Patriots in the 2016 draft, landed in Indianapolis via a trade in September 2017. He gave the Colts another option under center with Luck's status still up in the air as he recovered from shoulder surgery.

"We are in good hands with Jacoby Brissett as our starting quarterback," Colts coach Frank Reich told reporters last week.

Brissett completed only 58.8 percent of his passes in 2017. By comparison, Luck's percentage was under 60 only twice in his six seasons.
