C.J. Mosley might not be back in action until December.
Jets coach Adam Gase on Monday told reporters the linebacker will be out five to six weeks as he continues to recover from a groin injury.
Gase noted Mosley saw a specialist and will try to avoid surgery and he'll be re-evaluated at a later date after trying some unspecified non-surgical medical treatment. That timeline would potentially put Mosley back on the roster as early as Week 14 against the Dolphins if he's 100 percent.
Mosley was injured during the second half of the team's season opener against the Bills and briefly returned last Monday against the Patriots, but was ruled out again Friday. The Jets could also opt to give him the rest of the year to recover by placing him on injured reserve.
This is not the real C.J. Mosley.

His groin is clearly still bothering him. Watch him (57) on Michel’s TD on the first drive. No burst in pursuit. pic.twitter.com/MTFH3ky4jP
Gase said during Friday's press conference that "all options" are on the table regarding Mosley.
