How Canadian players in the NFL have fared heading into Week 10 image

Here's a look at how some of the best Canadian players in the NFL have performed heading into Week 10, many of whom will be involved with the great Canadian handoff this season. The exchange — in which the Canadian flag will travel around the league between players and personnel with Canadian ties — started in Week 1 with Quebec native Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. The Kansas City Chiefs lineman was presented the flag after his team defeated the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. He, in turn, handed it off in Week 3 to the Los Angeles Chargers. Hometown: LaSalle, Ontario
NFL Team: Seattle Seahawks
Position: Tight End
Up Next: vs. Arizona Cardinals, 8:25 p.m. ET, Nov. 9

Luke Willson not only caught his third scoring pass of the season in Week 9, but also gave a rousing touchdown celebration in which he pretended to be playing a flute.

Willson's 10-yard reception finished off a six-play, 66-yard drive that pulled the Seahawks to within a 10-8 deficit against Washington. Seattle later took a 14-10 lead but the Redskins scored with 59 seconds to go, and a last-ditch Hail Mary by the Seahawks was broken up in the end zone.

For the season, Willson has those three scoring catches among his nine total receptions. He's averaging 11.9 per reception with a total of 107 yards for the season. He explains here why he's having one of the best seasons of his career.

Seattle heads into its Week 10 Thursday night contest against the Cardinals with a 5-3 record.

Tyrone Crawford doesn't show up in the stat sheet for Week 9, but still played a part in the Cowboys' 28-17 victory over Kansas City.

He's on pace to break his career record in sacks, sitting one shy of his 2015 high of 5.0. He had just one tackle in the first two weeks, but added one in three of the next four games, including one each against the Cardinals, Packers and 49ers. For the season he has nine tackles and a fumble recovery.

Dallas (5-3) improved its playoff positioning with the win over the Chiefs.

Position: Offensive Guard

Brett Jones has played in seven games and started five for the struggling Giants so far this season.

New York — which came into the year expected to compete for an NFC East title — has had a disastrous start to 2017. The Giants continue its downward trend after falling to 1-7. The Giants opened the season with five straight losses, and after a surprise win over the Broncos in Week 6, fell at home to Seattle. After that game, Jones participated in the great Canadian Handoff by passing the flag over to Luke Willson and Jon Ryan of the Seahawks.
