The Browns and Texans will play the first NFL wild card game of the 2024 playoffs on Saturday.

The Texans beat the Colts, 23-19, in Week 18 to clinch their first playoff berth since 2019. Houston also won the AFC South title and earned the No. 4 seed after the Jaguars lost to the Titans.

The Browns are returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2020, when they won a wild card game against the Steelers and lost in the divisional round to the Chiefs. Cleveland rested several starters, including quarterback Joe Flacco, in a 31-14 loss to the Bengals in Week 18.

Cleveland beat Houston, 36-22, on Christmas Eve behind an 11-catch, 265-yard performance by Amari Cooper. However, the Texans played without Rookie of the Year candidate C.J. Stroud, who missed the game because of a concussion.

For Saturday's game, it looks like the Browns will have star cornerback Denzel Ward available. He sustained a knee injury in practice on Thursday and was listed as questionable, but reports are he's expected to play.
